Think. There's no box. Just think.

Zero is infinity... with a twist. No thing is everything... because now there's nothing at stake. Emptiness is fullness... because now there's room to be filled. Zero is infinity...when an arm twirls it at the right angle, when the mind sees the emptiness as endless possibilities, when you realize that you don't even have a box to think in, you see how much thinking room there is outside the box. So honey, think, there's no box. Just think. The possibilities are endless.

The Ontario Christian and 2015 sex-ed changes

I don’t know if it’s too many classes in sociology of religion, human sexuality, and the likes of these that have made my opinions significantly different from friends with whom I share other opinions. But since I am yet to find a ground comfortable enough for my Jesus loving self and freedom of expression celebrating side to stand, I write. One of our pastors was /is pretty furious at the recent changes to Ontario’s sex education laws. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, let’s take a moment to update you . When it finally loads, please scroll down to view the juice of it. Now that you get the idea, my question to my friends has been what makes this wrong from a non-Christian POV? Given that the entire population is not Christian, why would you expect the laws not to favor the non-Christians as well? If you absolutely detest homosexuality as a religious command and have a religious responsibility to train up your child in the way of God, I expect that you would teach y

I Still Do!

Hey Guys! Happy New Year! I can't be late with that greeting because in my head it's only like January 5th. I have no idea what's going on with the calendar! How are we already at the end of week 3?  Dear calendar, please who's chasing you? Anyway, today's topic was Instagram inspired! That customized explore button/tab thing on Instagram is right behind Agege bread on the list of amazing inventions! Exploration, stalking and 'checking out' made easy! It basically monitors the people you follow, the things you like, and even your searches (I think) and then presents an almost endless list of people and pictures that might interest you. Basically, you can just keep scrolling while the rest of your life is happening. Sounds kind of creepy, right? Yeah, but not really, if you're using the Internet at all, all this monitoring is already happening. So on today's exploration, I came across this page that's, basically all lovey-dovey, and after

You owe it to someone to shave? What...?

The other day, I saw a bikini model and realized that when I get married, I sort of owe it to someone to shave. What does that even mean? Well marriage involves sex, sex involves attractive nakedness, and that kind of involves presenting the best version of your naked self, and in today's world, that involves regular hair removal. Wonk. Wonk. Wonk :'( . For people who can't bear the tape hair removing method (I think regular humans call it waxing), who get tired of rinsing the shaving stick hundred times from having just allowed a full on bush to blossom, who end up with scratches and cuts and uneven hair patches, this must sound like torture. I can't imagine having to shave very regularly -_-. http://www.abbshow.com/files/images/gallery/articles/hairy-legs.jpg On one hand, I'm not a radical who will wait till she has plaitable hair, but I'm no silky-skinned arm model either #teamEsau.  Well there's the electric shaving thing though, and there's t

Updates and Blogiversary!

Hey guys! I officially have one semester left till the end of undergrad. It's so exciting! There's the realization that life really is happening. Not that it hasn't been happening all this while, but the parts of my life that I am really accountable for are about to begin. Ehm, that explanation doesn't really help. What I'm trying to say is, before now, I pretty much had to go to a preselected high school, then I moved to a country selected by my parents, my university and initial program studied even weren't entirely my decisions! So yeah, now I'm becoming more actively involved in the path my life will take. Lol strike that. I'm fighting to choose how my life goes. There's still the fear from family and friends on what life path is most secure (financially) and there's the reality that so many people end up loving jobs they never really thought they'd want. Anyway, I  have been hooked to this really awesome show . It's great becaus

Me, my mindless mind, and I.

It's interesting to experience how trainable the mind is.  You know you hear all these things about not knowing how strong you are until being strong is the only option there is. Yeah, where was I going with that? I can't remember. I've spent the past 10weeks trying to figure out if I can figure out whether the mind is the brain, the brain is the mind, the mind and brain are one, the mind is a product of the brain, the mind is an organization board for the brain and a few other mind-brain twisted relationships. No I don't just sit around doing that, it's for a class I'm taking (I'm a psychology student). But yeah tonight I'm staring at my laptop and thinking I have to write something before I go to bed that's not a cheesy love story. Because I don't think I could think up anything that wouldn't be a dub of a Bella-Naija love story.  So yeah it's amazing what the mind can do if you would just train it to. With food, it's b

Googling God

I saw this article on going to God via Google and normally it would have sounded like a bad Sunday joke aimed at engaging the younger church crowd, but today it sort of hit home...hard.  http://www.todayschristianwoman.com/articles/2014/november-week-3/seeking-and-googling.html The part where it asks whether or not we actually believe in an omniscient (and I’ll add omnipotent) God or whether we just profess it. It’s almost sounds like a rhetorical question when you’ve grown up or gotten so used to hearing Him being called these names.  But final year is hard. It's hard because professors are becoming increasingly difficult to please, as though G.P.As were no longer important. They come to class and say, “oh the class average is pretty high, it's about 71%, it's about 76%” as though that's what we cared about. In reality, the whole class is bunched up in the 70s and what good is that to anyone. So with school choosing her own path, and the future looking just as
